Job Title: Secondary Cover Supervisor

About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team at a secondary school in Woking. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that lessons run smoothly in the absence of teaching staff, while maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain experience in education or for individuals with a passion for supporting students in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following lesson plans provided
* Ensure students remain on task, maintaining a positive and respectful classroom environment
* Support students in their learning by providing guidance and assistance when needed
* Manage classroom behavior in line with the school’s policies
* Provide clear communication with staff regarding student progress and any concerns
* Carry out administrative tasks such as monitoring attendance and ensuring materials are prepared
* Support the wider school community, including assisting with extra-curricular activities and other duties as required
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience working with secondary school students is desirable but not essential
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively
* A proactive and flexible approach to work
* A commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development
* A positive attitude and a team player mentality
