Job Purpose: Carry out electrical and mechanical activities within a manufacturing environment - 24 hour operation.
Responsibilities:
1. Work under the guidance of the Engineering Supervisor to perform and complete the assigned duties in a timely manner.
2. Maintain accurate records of maintenance data input/output.
3. Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
4. Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation.
5. Identify and report unsafe operations to Line Supervisor immediately.
6. Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
Skills required:
1. Experience within an electrical maintenance environment, preferably in heavy industry/manufacturing sector.
2. Experience of working in a factory with inverters, drives, PLCs, motors & control systems.
3. Fault finding/diagnostic skills.
4. Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams.
5. Experience and knowledge of wiring and electrical equipment typically found in office environments.
6. Experience working with H&S systems, lock off/tag off procedure.
7. Able and willing to assist with non-core skill set tasks.
8. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under own initiative.
9. Good communication skills.
10. Ability to comprehend and safely operate electrical and mechanical equipment.
11. Ability to adhere to safe working procedures ensuring safety of oneself and colleagues.
12. Physically fit and active.
13. Flexibility to work different shift patterns.
Training / Qualifications:
1. Apprentice trained or time served.
2. Minimum City & Guilds or NVQ with 17th or 18th Edition.
3. Counterbalance forklift truck licence desirable.
Working hours:
4 on 4 off: 2 days 06:30am-18:30pm, 2 nights 18:30pm-06:30am and then 4 days off.
