We are seeking to recruit a Data Scientist to support a wide range of research projects within the newly funded LifeArc-Kidney Research UK Translational Research centre for rare kidney diseases led by Dr Louise Oni. This post will sit with a supportive team of experienced data scientists at the Computational Biology Facility, with regular opportunity for skill development and knowledge sharing. You will apply your computational skills to address exciting research questions from the clinical research community of the Centre and will be responsible for the data analysis and communication of results.
Responsibilities:
1. Apply computational skills to address research questions.
2. Conduct data analysis and communicate results.
Qualifications:
1. PhD in bioinformatics, systems biology, or related subject, or equivalent work experience.
2. Significant experience in the application of statistics, computational and bioinformatics techniques.
3. Experience with omics data.
4. Excellent communication, team working, and presentation skills.
The post is available for 4 years in the first instance and it is hybrid working with an expectation to be based at University Campus at least one day a week with occasional travel to partner institutions.
