A number of opportunities have arisen within the Network Team of the Digital and Information Service at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Network Team supports a vast range of equipment, services and products that help maintain the seamless and secure flow of information all around the Trust's network. The team is responsible for around 550 Cisco LAN/WAN devices, which allow network connections to over 8000 PC's, Printers, and over 4000 Cisco IP Phones.
The team is also responsible for the Cisco video infrastructure and supports the Cisco IPT solution across the trusts estate. The team has responsibility for the perimeter security solutions deployed across the York and Scarborough teaching hospitals sites.
The Trust has recently secured a multimillion-pound project which will see us embark on a complete LAN/WAN/WiFi and DC replacement programme utilising Cisco DNA, WiFi 6 and ACI technologies, to ensure the Trust is capable of delivering safe and effective health care whilst leveraging the most recent clinical and IT technologies.

Main duties of the job
The role will require you to be available for an on-call rota requiring Out of hours support, and the candidate will be required to travel between sites and carry equipment, so a driving licence is essential. Pool cars will be provided.

Training and experience
Essential
8. 2 years' experience as a Telecoms engineer in an enterprise environment.
9. 2 years' experience of the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems
Knowledge, Qualifications

10. Education to A level or equivalent or equivalent experience
11. Has demonstrable knowledge of the installation and maintenance of voice and data infrastructures
12. Achieved ECDL basic
Communication and relationship skills

13. Effective written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate technical issues with peers, users and specialist contractors
14. Demonstrable experience of working within a team
Analytical and judgemental skills
