About The Role Do you have skill and experience with working with people affected by dementia to engage them in group situations? We are looking for enthusiastic and positive individuals, both part-time and full-time, to bring people together through shared activities About the role Location : Community based in the Hertfordshire area, with some homeworking elements. Contract : we are looking for both part time and full time Group facilitators. Join us as a Group Facilitator to provide fun, social groups to our service users Our groups are for people living with dementia or those worried about their memory, to attend with a family member, close friend or carer. The groups are well established and a crucial means of support to service users. The role includes role management of volunteers. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and passionate team of Group Facilitators and dedicated volunteers. As a Group Coordinator you will also be connected to the expert local teams of Dementia Advisers. About you We are looking for a compassionate, supportive person with a good understanding of dementia and how it impacts both the person with the diagnosis and the carer. Experience of delivering and facilitating groups and responding to individual needs within a group setting, ensuring the person with dementia can fully participate as well as the carer. Excellent communication skills to engage people in group activities. Understanding the importance of volunteers in group services is essential, plus the ability to role manage volunteers to support them in their role. Good knowledge of dementia and an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers Experience of co-ordinating individuals/teams or volunteers. Good computer skills are required to facilitate virtual groups, and to complete accurate records on the computer system. The ability to travel independently to the locations the service covers across Hertfordshire. A drive to enhance on areas of knowledge that may be limited and build on your knowledge that is already there. A warm and welcoming nature and approach.
