We have a team of specialist Welfare Rights Advisors and Financial Inclusion Officers, which provides a challenging yet rewarding service in support of the people and communities of Swansea. We are looking for enthusiastic and empathetic individuals to interpret and navigate Social Security and Tax Credit law. You will work in a collaborative and flexible way to: Provide specialist advice and support for statutory and third sector organisations, helping individuals with complex benefit issues through a variety of methods including face-to-face, via telephone and online. Prepare legal arguments, gather evidence and present cases at first tier appeal hearings; and when required at upper tribunals. Plan, prepare and deliver training courses /sessions covering a wide range of welfare benefits. Develop information leaflets and publications that are easy to read covering areas of complex welfare benefit law. Plan, prepare and deliver take-up campaigns as required. We are seeking someone who is highly motivated, can work independently as well as part of a team, builds positive relationships and can communicate effectively on complex issues. The ability to apply specialist knowledge and understanding of the welfare rights system is essential for this role.
