Bookkeeper/Administrator
PJA Carpentry Ltd is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper/administrator on a permanent contract and a full-time basis. This role will report directly to the Directors and is based in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. We have free on-site parking.
We are a labour-only carpentry sub-contractor working on new build developments comprising mainly of houses and flats.
Tasks include:
1. Bank reconciliation, journals, prepayments, cash flow, VAT return
2. Creditors, debtors, expenses, online banking
3. Prepare accounts each month
4. Prepare accounts and pack of reports for quarter-end Accountant’s visit
5. Prepare and send wages which are outsourced, fortnightly
6. Liaising with suppliers, payroll company, customers
7. Various reports for the Directors
8. CITB grant claims, levy return
9. Ad-hoc administration tasks to assist with the smooth running of the office where training will be provided
Essential skills required:
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
2. Familiar with accounting software
3. Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
4. Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines
5. Work on own initiative and as part of a small team
6. Strong organisational and communication skills
