FABRICATION SITE FITTER - ENVIRONMENT
DERBY
Please note that a full UK Driving Licence is required for the role due to the requirement to drive a company vehicle and the remote location of some of our sites, which are not accessible by public transport.
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Fabrication Site Fitter to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Derby area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
You will work within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.
Within the role, you will:
1. Work as part of two-man team erecting Access Metalwork solutions predominantly (but not limited) to the water treatment industry.
2. The role is based in the Derby area working within the Severn Trent Water region – but will provide national coverage to support the business unit.
3. As Fabrication Site Fitter, you will be installing and fixing together steel sections, open type flooring and handrails.
4. As part of your role, you will be measuring, cutting, and forming handrail tubes, lining up and levelling steelwork before fixing and drilling and fixing steelwork, including handrail systems to concrete.

Part of your role as Fabrication Site Fitter will be to share market leading suggestions and ideas with the team to identify and challenges or discrepancies, along with potential alternative manufacturing and installation methods, to lead the way in terms of optimisation.
About You:
As well as your strong fabricating and fitting background and background in a similar work environment, we are seeking individuals with the ability to work from detailed drawings and read engineering drawings for marking and setting out.
You’ll be able to work well independently or as part of a team to achieve results. Experience in a similar work environment is desirable, but not essential.
Working on site, we’d like you to have CSCS Slinger Signaller, Confine Space training, IPAF operator, Working at height training, City & Guilds parts, & preferred or equivalent, Abrasive Wheels, Fork truck / Telehandler licence and SSSTS. However, we will support you in covering any training needs.
Safety is paramount so a good understanding and awareness of this is required – working to SSOW & RAMS.
