We are looking for an NMC registered professional who will have Practice Nurse experience in general practice. Additionally, we are a learning and training practice, so we strive to support our employees to the maximum.

Job responsibilities
* Provide assessment, treatment, screening, and health education services and advice, working in accordance with set protocols, guidelines, and the NMC Code of Conduct.
* Be qualified and a member of the NMC.
* Have the ability to work on own initiative, acknowledging limitations and knowing when to refer to other health professionals.
* Evaluate and adapt care using evidence-based practice, in consultation with colleagues for team education, development, and audit.
* Administer routine injections as prescribed.
* Perform childhood and adult immunisations, including reading and reviewing Patient Group Directives (PGDs) and Patient Specific Directives (PSDs).
* Conduct Well Person Health Checks including Foreign Travel Counselling, NHS Health Checks, Lifestyle, and New Patient Checks.
* Carry out ECGs.
* Manage obesity and weight/diet management.
* Engage in chronic disease management and prevention (Diabetes, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism, Stroke, Epilepsy, IHD, COPD, and Asthma would be advantageous).
* Ensure all specimens are checked and sent to the laboratory as required.
* Participate in the education of students of all disciplines.
* Be responsible for the efficient running of the treatment room and equipment, ensuring clinical areas are safe for staff and patients.
* Adhere to strict Infection Control in line with guidelines and policies.
* Fulfill administrative responsibilities.
* Take personal responsibility for own personal/professional development.
* Attend and participate in practice and staff meetings as appropriate.
* Maintain appearance and behaviour in keeping with a member of the nursing profession and in accordance with codes of conduct.
* Support and coordinate health promotion campaigns, e.g., flu, no smoking, healthy lifestyles, etc.
* Manage Treatment Room supplies and equipment.
* Maintain awareness of Infection Control.
* Ensure the cold chain in fridges is maintained and daily recordings are kept.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Nursing Degree and registration qualification.
* Member of NMC.
* Experience working in a General Practice environment.
* Knowledge of minor illness, minor injury, family planning, and immunisations.
* Understanding of computer-based medical records management.
* Knowledge and application of supporting long-term conditions.
* Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the NHS.
