The post holder will develop and manage the delivery of an excellent hospital facilities Transport service. To be responsible for all staff within their area undertaking any and all activities within Transport Department, ensuring staff are motivated, trained and equipped to complete their specific job tasks. The post holder is responsible for the delivery of all the above services in line with the relevant standards set out in the EFM Service delivery manual.
To provide day to day operational management support to the Transport Teams with the aim of ensuring that the service is running effectively and efficiently. The post holder is part of a wider team within the Facilities Department.
Performance Management:
* With knowledge of Transport services and other computer systems, provide performance monitoring data on the Transport Department.
* Ensure effective processes and procedures are in place to collate, monitor and track activity within the service.
* Set key performance indicators with service users for the Transport Department.
* Support the Transport Manager with the collation, presentation and, as appropriate, the analysis of data so that the Department has information on all key performance indicators.
* Undertake appraisals and set objectives with the Transport staff.
* Liaise with relevant departments in the Trust to ensure that the service runs smoothly. Highlight any operational issues and put in place procedures to rectify any underperformance.
Staff Management
Responsible for Transport staff within the Service. Set objectives and review performance of delegated staff, identifying individual training and development needs and promote continued personal and professional development.
Manage sickness, disciplinary and performance issues in line with Trust policies. Ensure that cross – cover is in place. Comply with all relevant Trust policies and standing financial instructions. Ensure all staff undertakes induction in line with Trust policies and procedures. Ensure all staff undertakes statutory and mandatory training. Manage the Transport bank availability and Health roster.
