Role: Project Engineer - Site Services
Reporting to: Site Services General Manager
Function: Engineering Services Division – Deritend

Job Purpose / Summary
The provision of Engineering Services work to our broad portfolio of customers.
Ensure all works are carried out in a safe and professional manner and that all safe systems of work and health & safety requirements are adhered to.
Delivering works and projects on time and in budget and for ensuring they meet Company and Customer specifications and quality requirements.
Assisting the project management team with the preparation of quotations for customers or potential customers for Mechanical, Electrical and Fabrication products or services.
Assist the onsite Engineering team with hands on assistance and/or engineering solutions as required.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist the Deritend management team with the running of the Site Services department.
· Face to face communication and interaction with customers to determine their needs and requirements.
· Responsible for defining and documenting Project plans; working with internal resources to obtain prices and costs for materials and equipment, and for the preparation of customer quotes in line with Company policies and procedures.
· Responsible for working with the customer to produce and provide Risk and Method Statements within agreed timescales and in accordance with Deritend and customers policies.
· Responsible for ensuring Risk Assessments & Method Statements are completed and maintained for relevant site, and all site engineers have been fully briefed.
· Responsible for ensuring that the site team understand the project requirements before commencement of works.
· Responsible for making sure that all tools and equipment needed for the works are ready before starting a job.
· Ensure that all works are carried out in a safe and professional manner and that safe systems of work and health & safety requirements are adhered to at all times.
· Routinely promote a safe working culture.
· Responsible for ensuring all onsite inspection and assembly documentation is accurately completed in a timely manner. Procedures, policies and work instructions are followed, including the reporting of any recommendations for improvement.

Skills and Experience
Essential
· Mechanical apprenticeship, time-served and indentured to ONC & HNC, NVQ, or equivalent qualifications.
· A minimum of 3 years’ customer facing experience in a similar, field based, supervisory / project management capacity.
· Demonstrable track record and knowledge of site installation-based procedures and H&S requirements on a construction / production site.
· Flexible approach to working times in line with company’s reactive nature.
· Full clean UK driving licence.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of water process equipment, plants and industry.

· Confined space qualification.
· Working within ATEX standards.
· Overhead operator license
· Counterbalance forklift license
· Lifting and slinging qualification
· Water Hygiene qualified (EUSR)
· Thames Water Passport
· H&S qualification (IOSH, CSCS, CCNSG)
· Emergency First Aid trained.
· Multi skilled (Electro-mechanical capability) an advantage.
Competencies
· Practical understanding of Engineering principles.
* Ability to read, and understand, all technical aspects from drawings and parts lists.
* Good understanding of mechanical repair techniques.
* Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to quality of work.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team and customer facing.
· Ability to liaise with subcontractors, Cranes, scaffolding, plant access, etc.
· Ability to work to deadlines.
· Initiative to work on own or as part of a team.
· Ability to manage a varied workload,
· Willing to undergo additional training as required / where necessary.
