Thank you for your interest in the position of Senior Science Technician at Orchard School Bristol.
The role of the Senior Science Technician is to organise and deliver technical assistance and support activities to the Science Faculty staff so they can deliver practical activities and a broad curriculum offer.
Knowledge of the sciences along with practical experience is essential, so you will have studied Science to GCSE level, and you will have science A levels or equivalent experience of working in a laboratory. A science degree is desirable. You must have experience working as a technician already or be highly familiar with laboratory work. Duties will include preparation of chemicals and materials and the cleaning of equipment for whole class practical work, demonstrations, supporting science teachers in delivery of practicals and leading/directing the work of the science technician. You should have knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and be responsible, alongside the Head of Faculty for ensuring Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.

At Key Stage 3 we follow an exciting curriculum, aiming to suitably prepare our learners for the Combined Science at GCSE and separate GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
