Skanska Building Services are experts in Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) engineering. We have extensive experience of delivering a huge range of projects in a wide variety of sectors, including commercial, educational, Defence and Data Centres.
Our team are looking for a Planner to join the team on one of our projects in Hertfordshire.
The purpose of the role will be to meet the requirement to work on a live Construction project leading the planning requirements and chairing collaborative planning meetings. Predominantly site based but will be required to visit central office meetings on occasion.
You’ll:
* Contribute to the overall planning process, maintaining a proactive and professional service to the planning, bid and project teams working to the guidelines of the planning and programming strategic plan.
* Contribute towards the management of the bid and project planning / programming strategic plan.
* Assist the management team in preparation of method statements to meet the needs of the project.
* Manage the delivery and maintenance of all associated programmes, specific to MEP, as required by the bid and project planning and programming strategic plan - Including as a minimum, the Master Integrated Programme including Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Handover Programmes and any major MEP Trade Package Programmes.
* Support use of 4D Planning if required by clients.
* Supply chain & subcontractor management.
* Development & implementation of Project Controls Practice.
We’re looking for:
HNC/Degree qualification in a construction related subject or trade qualifications.
Good working knowledge of Planning Software (Asta PowerProject / Primavera).
An appreciation of 4D planning software tools including Synchro.
What you'll do:
* New software and innovative planning ideas produced and trialled on projects.
* Production of reports and schedules.
* Support the project lead produce scenarios, critical paths and narrative to support claims.
* Produce the weekly reports and issue to supply chain while communicating clearly to the site team any issues or trends that raise concern.
* Run and ensure the EVMs, weekly meeting, monthly reports etc. are all up to date.
* Run and complete weekly EVM on time for project reporting while doing individual updates with each discipline.
* Update and keep track of KPIs outlined in business plan for internal reporting.
