The successful candidate should have experience of ILR and bradycardia pacing implant and follow-up (VVI(R), DDD(R) being able to work independently. Experience of ICD, CRT-P and CRT-D implant and follow-up
The post holder will be required to work in our Catheter Lab performing device implants, Angiography, Primary PCI, and in the Device follow-up clinics
The post holder will be required to study for and complete a recognized Heart Rhythm Device qualification such as IBHRE, EHRA or BHRS.
Main duties of the job
To be competent in performing the following to a high standard in accordance with BHRS/IBHRE and Department standards:
Single and dual chamber pacemaker implant including hardware selection..
ILR implants,
Single and dual chamber pacemaker follow-up, including trouble shooting, program optimization and clinical recommendations to medical staff in the pacemaker clinics and on the wards as required.
Multi-chamber implantable defibrillator implant and follow-up
To record all device implants and follow-ups on the TomCat data system Training will be given
Ensure pacing clinic transfers, MRI/Radiotherapy requests and patient queries are responded to and completed in accordance with department protocols.
Perform and record device home monitoring clinics ensuring results are recorded in accordance with department protocols.

Essential
* The successful candidate must have a BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent + ASCST Parts 1 and 2.2
* The successful candidate ideally be RCCP or HCP registered or have the relevant qualifications

* The candidate must have extensive work experience in a Cardiology Department to include non-invasive and invasive cardiology

* Perform left and right heart catheters and PCI
* The candidate must be able to perform resting ECGs and Cardiac Physiologist led exercise stress tests, hooking-up and analyses of 24hr ECG and non-invasive blood pressure ambulatory monitoring and assist in head-up tilt table testing (HUTT)
* Understand and interpret the results of these tests.
* Work without supervision Understand the basic guidelines and procedures required to perform clinical tests and demonstrate that they can carry these out to the required standards
* Basic competency in pacemaker implantation, generator replacement and Associated procedures and Reveal implantation
