Our client is seeking a highly skilled CNC Miller to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual mills and lathes, performing CNC setting and programming, machine grinding, and part inspection. The role involves working on precision parts, assisting with system assembly, and supporting site visits when necessary.
What's on Offer?
Salary: £30,000- £40,000
Working Hours: Full time, Flexible start and finish around core hours of 10am-4pm (Monday - Thursday) and 10am-1pm on Fridays
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manual Machining: Operate mill and lathe machines with precision to produce high-quality parts
2. Machine Grinding: Utilise grinding techniques, including disc changing, ideally with a qualification
3. CNC Setting & Programming: Set up, program, and operate CNC machines
4. Part Inspection: Inspect parts using hand tools (vernier, micrometer) and develop skills to use CMM / Arm style machines
5. System Assembly: Assist with part and system assembly when required
6. Precision Fitting: Fit precision parts to meet high standards
7. Electrical Safety: Have an appreciation of electrical safety and systems, an advantage in the role
8. Site Visits: Occasionally assist with service or installation site visits as needed
9. Forklift Operation: Hold a UK driving license and ideally a forklift qualification or be willing to learn
10. Welding Appreciation: An understanding of welding processes is beneficial for the role
Requirements, Skills & Knowledge:
1. Experience: Experienced machinist with a strong background in operating mills and lathes
2. Machine Grinding: Ideally have experience with grinding and disc changing qualifications
3. CNC Experience: Previous experience in CNC setting, programming, and operation, with a solid understanding of relevant software
4. Inspection Skills: Ability to perform part inspection with vernier and micrometer, with a willingness to learn CMM / Arm style machines
5. Assembly & Fitting: Previous experience in precision part fitting and system assembly
6. Electrical Safety: An appreciation for electrical safety and systems, beneficial to the role
7. Site Visits: Willingness to occasionally assist with service or installation visits
8. Driving & Forklift: A UK driving license is essential; forklift qualification is preferred or the willingness to learn
9. Welding Knowledge: Knowledge of welding processes is a useful advantage
