Job Description: Fleet Manager
Location: Mid Sussex
Reports to: Managing Director
Job Summary:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the fleet both Company owned and hired vehicles, ensuring the availability to meet the demands of the business. Additionally, maintaining adherence to current transport, Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
Job Responsibilities:
Actively research, identify, and select suitable and efficient vehicles, on approval from the MD, as demand requires
Arranging installation of Chapter 8, trackers and boarding out of all new vehicles
Control and allocation of all vehicles for new starters
Arrange new vehicles registration numbers to be added to i-Auditor
Obtain and maintain the companies Restricted O-Licence
Undertake recorded inspections on all vehicles prior to issue
Control and maintain of Fleet Insurance
Adding all vehicles to the Company accounts for the Dart charge, TFL system and AA breakdown cover Provide a programmed control of servicing and maintenance of all owned and hired vehicles
Controlling all breakdowns, faults, servicing, and MOTs of Company owned vehicles, actioning any minor faults within 24 hours
Controlling and co-ordination resolution of all breakdowns, faults, and servicing etc. of leased vehicles with Enterprise, actioning any minor faults within 24 hours
Review vehicle and plant inspection log forms on i-Auditor daily and close out all issues raised following inspections of vehicles
Monitor and investigate any negligent damage, and where appropriate liaise with the Finance department for the cost of repair/replacement to be re-charge to the vehicle driver/liable person/Company
Co-ordinate replacement of damaged vehicle parts
Preparing vehicle documentation for clients and regulatory bodies audits
Maintain a stock of spare consumable parts for vehicles i.e. side mirrors, indicator housing etc
Any other tasks that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience and knowledge in the control of vehicles
Experience in the transport industry with knowledge of Department of Transport Legislation and guidance notes
Initiative, ability to work alone and overcome challenges to meet deadlines
Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
Proven team leader with the ability to engage at all levels of the company
High standard of written English and good communication skills, including professional telephone manner
Education and Qualifications:
Transport Manager CPC preferred but not essential
Manual Handling
Emergency First Aid at Work
Full Clean UK Driving License
