Restaurant & Suite Manager
We are looking for a hard-working individual who enjoys running their own team. You must be organised and dressed presentably at all times. Control day-to-day life in our department, ensuring no time is wasted and planning ahead for upcoming events. Over the last year, we have hosted many amazing events from the Stanley Cup, boxing matches, Lewis Capaldi, and more. You could help make these events epic!
Who Are We
We are the Motorpoint Arena & National Ice Centre, Nottingham, the largest entertainment venue in the East Midlands with a crowd capacity of 10,000. Showcasing the biggest names in music, comedy, entertainment, and sport, we host over 100 events and welcome 800,000+ visitors through our doors each year. Home to the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Team, where they play 30+ home league & cup games each season.
With an adaptable restaurant space that can host parties & networking for up to 200 people & seated dinners for up to 120, and 45 hospitality suites, it means that no two days are the same.
What You Will Be Doing
1. To plan and run both restaurants and suites on event days.
2. Manage stock levels and rotation, liaise with F&B management to ensure adequate stock levels.
3. To maintain a positive work environment for staff.
4. Ensure customers in your areas are satisfied with the service they have received.
5. Keep all areas clean and tidy day to day.
6. Work with the staffing team to ensure adequate staff levels across all areas and that all staff are trained to a high level.
7. Work with the HOM to enhance the service within your designated areas.
8. Work closely with the hospitality sales team.
9. Work closely with the chefs.
10. Understand all laws relating to your areas (licensing, food safety, and health and safety).
11. Ensure menus are correct and suitable for the customers attending, working with F&B management to offer event night specials based on customer profile.
12. Resolve all customer complaints to ensure a satisfactory outcome.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Deliver the highest standard of service within all restaurants and suite areas.
2. Supervise and motivate team members, including briefing staff on event day and running all areas of the department.
3. Lead and co-ordinate the setup of rooms, suites, and restaurants for service.
4. Maintain high standards in all areas of hospitality.
5. In the absence of the HOM, maintain the consistency of the department.
6. Work with the hospitality sales team to understand guest attendance at events and work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to manage daily operations.
7. Ensure that the team remains polite and courteous to customers while working under pressure.
8. Responsible for meeting customers who are attending events.
9. Ensure stock take is completed accurately.
10. Work alongside the HOM to develop the team and recruit to expand the team.
11. Ensure that the team understands their responsibilities regarding the sale of age-restricted products, including selling alcohol to underage persons and other restricted items.
12. You must be friendly, approachable, and able to work under pressure independently.
13. During quieter times, support other areas of the business.
