Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior midwife to join our Maternity Governance team at Sherwood Forest Hospital NHS Trust. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic midwife to join our team as Clinical Governance Midwife working closely with the Matron for Maternity Governance, the Deputy Head of Midwifery and the other members of the Governance Team playing an integral part in supporting the system-wide maternity quality and safety agenda including NHS Resolution standards and Ockenden actions.
We are looking for a compassionate and approachable midwife whose role will be to achieve consistency of practice, high standards of care and innovation with a strong patient safety focus. Engagement with staff is key, ensuring service changes are clearly communicated and embedded in practice.
Main duties of the job
You will play a pivotal role within the maternity governance team, working closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team across divisions. You will take the lead on service and quality improvement in clinical governance and risk management, alongside the wider Govenance Team within the Women's and Children's Division, to enable a joint focus on keeping women and babies safe and at the centre of the care provided.
This role demands leadership and influencing skills, specialised knowledge of maternity risk and governance processes, and the ability to collaborate with system-wide partners, supporting the Sherwood Forest Hospital governance structure.
