What you will do in your working day
* Support the Youth Services Team and the Communities team in planning, delivering and leading an exciting range of sessions and activities for children and young people. This will include youth forum meetings and events; 11-19s clubs, summer play schemes; training and employment initiatives and Young Adventurers clubs (8-12’s sessions)
* Brief the youth worker staff before and after sessions you are leading on, ensuring the staff team has all the information they need
* Work directly with children and young people to encourage and support them to give their views and participate in activities. This will include attending, planning and leading a range of project sessions and meetings at various venues, including detached youth work and sessions in community venues. This will include evenings and occasionally weekend
* Help the Youth Services Team to actively involve children and young people in the design and evaluation of projects and services
* Help with record-keeping and administration, such as meeting notes, consent forms, attendance registers and project records
* Contribute towards the promotion of West Kent’s youth work and the achievements and successes of young people, through the production of newsletter articles, press releases and case studies
* Liaise with other local youth workers and our partner agencies to share ideas and good practice, attending network meetings as required
The training you will be getting
* Youth work level 3 Standard
* Maths and English functional Skills if required at level 2
* Workshops will be available online
