The Role:
The Business Development Manager will act as the key liaison between the company and external partners, including employment agencies, industry stakeholders, local councils, training network organisations, and prospective clients. This role is focused on driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships, and managing strategic partnerships to increase revenue streams. The ideal candidate will develop and implement business strategies and ensure company targets are met and exceeded.
Initially, we will require the Business Development Manager to work directly with a current CITB contract recruiting and aiding individuals into employment.
Location: 127 South Liberty Lane, Bedminster, Bristol, BS3 2SZ
Working hours: 8.00 am – 4.30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
* Work directly with our current CITB funding programme, Constructing Lives Together (CLT) to identify and establish partnerships with key stakeholders, including construction companies, recruitment agencies, and employment organisations to ensure that we meet our intervention targets.
* Aid the commercial department in sourcing candidates looking to start employment in the construction sector, these candidates will then undertake a 3-day assessment at our training centre. You will then use your contacts gained with construction companies, recruitment agencies, and employment organisations to place these candidates into employment, tracking their progress and employment with the aim of gaining 12 weeks sustained employment.
* Ensure prospective candidates meet the funding criteria set with the CLT project.
* Ensure that the required paperwork and evidence are collected from employment agencies to ensure we are project compliant.
* Work alongside and support a funding administrator who will be responsible for collecting and collating forms and evidence to ensure we are project compliant.
* Develop and execute business development strategies to expand our market presence, apprenticeship opportunities, employer engagement, and generate new revenue opportunities.
* Conduct market research to identify industry trends and potential areas for business growth.
* Engage with clients and partners through regular communication, ensuring long-term business relationships.
* Prepare reports and presentations on business development progress, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategic objectives.
* Work closely with internal teams to align business development efforts with company goals and project outcomes.
* Attend industry events, networking opportunities, and job fairs to promote company initiatives and secure new partnerships.
* Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of all business development activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A demonstrable strong background in business development, senior sales, or senior recruitment.
* Proven experience in generating leads, negotiating contracts, and expanding company revenue.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify opportunities and implement strategic initiatives.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in the construction or recruitment sectors is advantageous but not essential.
* Proven track record in business development or senior sales roles.
* Strong negotiation and networking skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Highly motivated, with a results-driven mindset.
* Proven experience working with key stakeholders and senior management.
* Previous experience presenting and delivering key business information to decision-makers.
