THE OPPORTUNITY
We're on the lookout for an Assistant Construction Manager to join our team at Zenobe. You'll be working alongside our Senior Construction Manager to help deliver some of the biggest battery energy storage projects in the UK (over 200MW) with connections to transmission networks.
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable getting stuck in on-site, working closely with the Senior Construction and Project Managers, and taking charge of managing site activities. You'll also handle contractor management, third-party coordination, and stakeholder relationships.
This is a dynamic role with flexibility needed around work locations – most projects will be based in Scotland. You'll spend most of your time onsite; however, there will be opportunities to work from home and visit our London office from time to time.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
* Provide support and input to the project design stages, providing guidance on constructability and operability.
* Support the development, implementation, and adherence to the requirements of the Project Quality Plan within the area of responsibility.
* Manage all onsite interfaces including works related to grid connection.
* Bring technical queries/disputes regarding contractor supplied documentation to the attention of the Project Manager and assist thereafter with the resolution of such issues.
* Ensure adequate design safety risk assessments in relation to Construction are undertaken, monitoring, and ensuring close out of actions where appropriate.
* Support the Engineering Lead on construction-related issues.
* Ensure that daily diaries and regular photographs of the works are kept acting as a record of the construction.
* Ensure management of safety, quality, resource, schedule, and cost objectives within the construction function to support the Project Manager.
* Provide client representation during construction and commissioning phases.
* Directly manage contractors on site to ensure the works are delivered in line with the contracted obligations and meet all quality, safety, and programme requirements.
* Produce a weekly site progress report.
* Prepare a Construction report section to be included in the monthly project board report.
* Oversee application of HSE policy and procedures.
* Provide challenge, where appropriate, to contractors to ensure that design, construction, HSE, and project management standards are adhered to.
* Manage the day-to-day activities on site and ensure the programme of works is defined between all contractors for upcoming activities.
