Main duties of the job
As a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will manage the psychiatric care across our diverse Mental Health Specialities. Key duties include:
* Conducting detailed psychiatric assessments, developing care plans, and monitoring treatment outcomes.
* Leading clinical decision-making and risk management within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring patient safety and recovery-focused care.
* Acting as the Responsible Clinician for detained patients, with Mental Health Act duties and active participation in Care Programme Approach (CPA) reviews.
* Providing clinical oversight and guidance to team members, supporting a collaborative approach to complex cases.
* Participating in service development, quality improvement, and governance activities to enhance care standards and service effectiveness.

* Full Registration with the General Medical Council
* MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
* Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview. CCT in Specialty Psychiatry
