What does Software Testing in the Engineering team do?
Working as part of a team of Software Testers, you will gain an understanding of how each Randox analyser works by operating them in accordance with user and software specifications. Using this knowledge, you will develop and execute tests to ensure the analyser software performs correctly to specification under normal, abnormal and failure induced operating conditions. You will participate in multi-disciplinary meetings with software developers, hardware engineers, scientists, and project managers to ensure the software test suite is appropriate and complete to the high-quality standards necessary for certification of medical device software. You will also test standalone software applications related to analysers. Software testing may involve both manual testing and automated testing methods.
Location: Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4FL.
Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent, on-site role.
Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.40 to 17.20 or longer days Monday to Thursday with early finish on Friday.
What does the Software Test Engineer role involve?
This role is responsible for the verification of software of engineering products. This is an extremely varied role that will require you to develop a varied skillset including:
1. Understand operating scenarios on a range of Randox analysers.
2. Participate in test planning of different Randox diagnostic analysers and different standalone software applications.
3. Design, document, and execute both manual and automated test scripts as appropriate for the analyser.
4. Identify and record software defects within a problem-tracking system.
5. Provide Software Test review comments on various software lifecycle documents.
6. Ensure system is tested to a high-quality standard.
7. Play a major role to improve quality, functionality, reliability and usability of products.
8. Full on the job training will be provided on our processes and analysers.
Who can apply?
Essential criteria:
9. Higher-level qualification in a software related discipline OR demonstratable appropriate experience (min. 2 years).
10. Ability to work independently and in a structured way, using your initiative to remove blockers.
11. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work in a logical manner.
12. Excellent written and verbal communication
13. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
14. Desire to learn and explore new technologies.
Desirable criteria:
15. Experience using an issue reporting tool.
16. Experience in automated testing.
17. Familiarity with at least two of the following programming languages: C#, C++, Delphi, VB, or Java.
