We are looking for an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon who is focused on clinical excellence and teamwork to join our new referral hospital. The position entails overseeing both internal and external medicine cases at a referral level, as well as maintaining communication with clients and referring veterinarians.
Our new state-of-the-art referral hospital is due to open in May ’25 and so this is an ideal time to join our venture at its inception and help build the service from the ground up.
The Hospital
Plymouth Veterinary Group is a first-opinion multi-site practice with a flagship hospital and branch surgeries covering all areas of the city. Our hospital provides 24/7 care 365 days a year as well as providing an out-of-hours service for other feeder practices within Plymouth. It is well equipped with Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, Laparoscopy, and other diagnostic equipment enabling most first opinion cases to be treated in-house as well as accepting referrals for exotics. The size of our network ensures that support, advice and guidance from the wider team is always on hand.
The Person
To be successful you must have RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in Small Animal Surgery, with post-certificate experience of managing internally or externally referred cases. Driven to helm a new service and drive it forward in collaboration with other referral disciplines. You must also offer flexibility in working hours, typically between 2-3 days a week with share of weekend work.
