Context and Purpose of the Job
The Support Worker will sit in the Integration and Employment Department and will work with a caseload of 30-45 female refugee clients from a range of backgrounds. The Support Worker’s responsibilities include directing women to the program, conducting assessments and evaluations, overseeing the activities, assisting the women in attending them, setting up childcare and interpretation services as needed, setting up appropriate volunteer and work experience opportunities, and providing the women with intensive support as needed. They will also carry out the program’s digital literacy module and supervise the women-led module. When necessary, they will also bring in committed experts to meet the special needs of women.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Client Support:
1. Referring and inducting suitable refugee women onto the programme, including drawing up of development plan.
2. Carrying out ongoing monitoring sessions with each client to assess their progress on the course and inspire and motivate client’s positive mental attitude, assessing against client’s development plans. Clients are also signposted to other services as necessary.
3. Carrying out a holistic and employment focused assessment with each client in order to find a suitable volunteering or work placement for them.
