JOB DESCRIPTION
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a young man of 36 years old; I live in the village of Abercynon in Rhondda Cynon Taff.
I have special needs requirements including deafness, speech difficulties and I feed myself via a Mickey tube system and as a result am not able to eat food in the normal manner. I am a non-smoker.
I love watching sport such as Rugby and Football and thoroughly enjoy socialising including going to the cinema and playing bowling or other fun events that I am able to participate in.
My speech issues can make me a little difficult to understand although you will get used to me in no time. I sometimes use sign language when around other Deaf friends and although not a requirement it can be of benefit to me at times in some situations.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of this Role is to provide support to my Family and l, by recruiting a personal assistant that, on a part time basis can accompany me on days out and social events, safe in the knowledge that I am in good hands with someone that both I and my Family can trust.
PLACE OF WORK
In and around the local community
HOURS OF WORK
20 hours per month, 5 hours every week- mostly Saturday’s
RATE OF PAY
£12.45 including double pay on bank holidays and paid mileage where appropriate.
TASKS INVOLVED
Socialising for Disabled people is always difficult as there are few community groups to involve yourself in, so any assistance and support in this area would be appreciated.

ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
