Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fleet and Safety Manager to oversee our fleet operations and safety program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the fleet and safety, ensuring optimal performance, safety and training, and compliance with regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Safety Planning and Implementation:
* Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and procedures specific to telecom construction.
* Ensure that safety protocols are aligned with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and Mainline's safety standards.
* Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and assess safety risks.
Training and Education:
* Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors. Provide guidance on safety-related certifications and qualifications required for specific job roles.
* Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization.
Incident Management and Investigation:
* Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents.
* Analyze root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure timely reporting of all safety incidents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards applicable to heavy civil, transportation, and water resource construction.
* Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies. Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
Safety Performance Monitoring:
* Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure safety performance on projects.
* Conduct regular assessments and audits to evaluate adherence to safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
* Provide timely and accurate safety reports to project management and senior leadership.
Fleet Management
* Manage the daily operations of the fleet, including scheduling, maintenance, and repairs.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient fleet operations.
* Monitor vehicle usage and performance metrics to optimize fleet efficiency.
* Coordinate with vendors for vehicle procurement, maintenance services, and repairs.
* Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding fleet operations.
* Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
* Train and supervise staff involved in fleet management activities.
* Analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements in fleet operations.
