We are looking for a hardworking, flexible, enthusiastic, and motivated nurse with an interest in Critical Care nursing. The successful candidate should possess excellent organisational & time management skills and have a minimum of one year experience in an Acute care setting. The nursing staff work 12-hour shifts and this would include day & night duty rotation depending on the area, but working hours/patterns can be discussed further at the time of the interview.
Surgical High Dependency Unit consists of up to eight level 2 beds which provide care for both emergency and elective surgical patients from all surgical/orthopaedic specialities. There is a rotation with the Intensive Therapy Unit which is collocated in the same area.
Intensive Therapy Unit is a nine-bedded Level 3 unit providing care to critically ill patients. There is a rotation with SHDU.
The Department is supported by a clinical educator and there is ongoing training provided. You are welcome to come and visit us before you apply for this post. You would be joining a great team of nurses.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
