Estates Manager – Pubs, Hotels and Ancillary Premises – London and Home Counties
McMullen and Sons Ltd is a progressive, family-owned pub retailer and brewer. We have been trading since 1827.
The company owns a varied property portfolio (mainly freehold), split between our licensed pub trading estate and ancillary properties which comprises a brewery, offices, retail and residential assets and land.
We are looking for an experienced Estates Manager, to be based at our Head Office and Brewery in Hertford, who would assist the Property Director with the management of the Company’s licenced and ancillary property portfolio to maximise financial return and protect the Company’s property assets.
The ideal person will have the following skills and experience: -
1. A Chartered Surveyor with at least 3 years’ experience post qualification
2. The ability to spot opportunity, drive income and value
3. Need to be able to get on with people, communicate well and be an excellent negotiator
4. Hands-on, can-do attitude – we are a small, highly skilled team where we all play our part
5. Attention to detail and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects whilst retaining a sense of humour
6. Driving Licence – you will be required to undertake site inspections across the entire estate. You will be assisting with the management of the entire estate including several high-profile Central London sites
It would be an advantage but not essential to have: -
7. An understanding of building construction and building pathology
8. Knowledge of property database and repairs/compliance programmes
9. A keen interest in pubs
This position is office based in Hertford
