Development Engineer, exhaust systems / Aftertreatment System Peterborough Twelve-months contract Three days onsite, flexible on which days 37 hours a week Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 16:45 Friday 08:30 – 16:15 Can offer some flexibility with start and finish times. £34.20 / hr umbrella Inside Ir35 Requirements: -6-8 years of engineering or relevant diesel aftertreatment or exhaust system experience APQP, FMEA and DVP&R. diesel engine development and new product introduction. developing components and systems through simulation, rig testing and complete system testing. -Knowledge of troubleshooting, tools, and techniques (8D); anticipate, detect, and resolve technical problems in manufacturing environment. Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent knowledge/experience). Good understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, engine components and/or systems and component development. Good understanding of manufacturing principles and processes. Self-motivated and able to manage and deliver complex projects to meet commitments. Effective communication skills and teamwork with both internal teams and external suppliers. Previous knowledge and experience of diesel engine development and new product introduction. Basic awareness of aftertreatment system function. Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Adheres to standard troubleshooting procedures to ensure effectiveness of resolution Strong analytical skills, and experience of developing components and systems through simulation, rig testing and complete system testing.
