To oversee the 24 hour access Domestic Abuse Refuge Charity in the City of Birmingham.
Manage a Deputy Manager, 14 Family Support Workers, 8 Night Support Workers, and 4 Childcare workers in on-site nursery. There will be 25 families and children in self-contained apartments, with maintenance staff. Hours will be Monday to Friday with some flexibility on hours, and 'on call' for safeguarding matters. Working closely with the CEO and the Trustees management Board.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Female Services Centre Manager
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer

Job Purpose: To manage a team to provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic abuse that delivers a service to those at highest risk. To be the lead in crisis situations and provide advice and guidance on child protection issues and information sharing concerns.
STAFF:
1. The Recruitment & Interviewing of all prospective new staff in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, and Member of the Board of Management, if required, ensuring safer recruitment processes are followed.
2. Ensure Deputy Manager and Support Worker implements inductions for new staff.
3. To ensure that all day and night staff are trained to the required standards relating to domestic abuse and relevant issues, both by in-house and external programmes, within budgetary constraints.
4. Implementation of staff policies.
5. Supervise all staff in respect of quarterly supervisions and evaluation, discipline, time keeping and quality of performance, implement safer recruitment process.
6. Attend staff meetings.
7. Oversee Domestic Homicide Review Checks.
8. Attend outside agency meetings.
9. Assist to prepare staff rota.
RESIDENTS:
1. Keep up to date with all new referrals, Deputy Manager. Oversee safeguarding adults and children’s policies and procedures. Become a safeguarding lead.
2. Liaise with Deputy Manager, Family Support Staff and Childcare manager to ensure that the needs and requirements of Residents are being met.
3. Liaise with Deputy Manager, Family Support Staff to ensure that Resident Risk Assessment & Management Plans are set up and maintained.
4. Mediate in disputes between Residents and staff.
5. Ensure that any complaints are dealt with, swiftly and fairly and correct procedures are maintained.
6. Attend and assist with Residents Meetings.
GENERAL:
1. Attend external meetings and liaise with agencies, including health services, supported housing, the police, probation, children’s services and other agencies in connection with the support and requirements of Residents.
2. Liaise with Housekeeping Staff to ensure that cleanliness of the Centre, including Residents Units is of the highest standard and meets Health & Safety Regulation requirements.
3. Supervise and liaise with the facilities manager with all aspects of the H & S of the safety of the centre and request any works/repairs required. (advise CEO of any major works required)
4. Reporting any problems or concerns to the Chief Executive Officer.
5. Attend or report at meetings of the Board of Management on centre activities.
6. Implementation of the Centre’s policies and procedures.
FINANCE:
1. Confirm and authorise petty cash payments, authorise any expenditure of a minor nature for residents and staff requirements. Any large amounts of expenditure notify CEO and expenditure of £250 and above.
2. To advise Finance Officer of all expenditure authorised.
3. Such other tasks and duties commensurate with the position.
