We are looking for a Vehicle Painter to join our busy Engineering Department across the Lothian Family in our Seafield garage This is a permanent role at an hourly rate £20.63. You will be working 5 days over 7, 37.5 hours per week. What do we do? Engineering plays a critical part in helping us to provide a safe and reliable bus service for our customers. Our dedicated and highly skilled team of engineers ensure our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and are regularly checked by DVSA and other regulatory bodies. We are proud to carry out all of our own maintenance and repairs onsite at our main garages across the city. What will you be doing? Preparation, stripping, sanding and masking Etching and priming areas to be treated Colour matching and mixing Paint application techniques Applying several coats of paint including primer, colours and protective finishes Buffing and polishing Maintaining and cleaning equipment Paint defect corrections Storing paints in the correct conditions Panel beating and repairing any damaged exterior components Repair and maintenance of general bodywork parts Who are we looking for? Previous experience of spray painting and hand brush painting is essential Have previously worked on large vehicles. Flexible approach to working hours. A strong desire to help develop others within the engineering team in order to improve efficiency. A PCV licence is desirable, the ability to obtain one is essential. What can we offer you?
