Long Term Futures is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant at a vibrant school in Birmingham. The school is looking for a motivated and dedicated individual who is eager to make a difference in the lives of SEN students. This full-time position offers the potential to transition to a permanent role after the long-term placement.
In this role, you will provide tailored support to students with a variety of needs, including autism spectrum disorder and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your contributions will be crucial in helping these students progress and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and implementing personalised learning plans to ensure each student's individual needs are met.
- Support students with their personal care and daily routines, ensuring dignity and safety at all times.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student independence, development, and social skills.
- Track and monitor student progress to support their ongoing development.
Essential Experience:
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with ASD/ADHD.
- A patient, empathetic, and caring approach to working with children who have complex needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact with both SEN students and their families.
- A proactive, flexible attitude.
