We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Library Business Support Team.
Staffordshire Library Service is a statutory service and is delivered across the County via 43 static libraries and a mobile library service. Our libraries are open for a total of 1,582 hours per week, attract nearly 5 million visits a year and issue 4.5 million loan items.
If successful, you will help us tell our story across our organisation, to stakeholders, partners and the residents of Staffordshire through the data we capture.
Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely within the Library Business Support Team and the wider Staffordshire Library team.
Some of the tasks you will do:
1. Produce reliable, accurate, timely and comparable performance information to meet the needs of the organisation and external organisations such as CIPFA and Libraries Connected - National reporting organisations.
2. Collate and analyse data from management systems to produce reports and facilitate continuously developing services.
3. Assist with the implementation of customer engagement surveys, collate, and analyse data and present results to the wider team - verbally, electronically and in written format as required.
4. Design and implement processes and procedures to retrieve performance data.
5. Develop effective practices with the Library Management System Supplier, to assist the Business Support Manager, to ensure system changes and queries are dealt with.
6. Led by the Business Support Manager, participate in updating our information on the SharePoint Intranet to ensure that information for library staff is accurate and up to date.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
1. Experience of collating, analysing and interpreting statistics.
2. Ability to use a wide range of IT packages including Advanced Excel.
3. The ability to communicate clearly, confidently and effectively with a range of people across the organisation and externally through phone, e-mail and in person.
4. Good organisation skills and attention to detail, as you'll be keeping data updated and you'll be working to deadlines.
5. A flexible approach to work as sometimes things can change, and so you'll need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly.
6. Experience of working as part of a team but also using your own initiative.
