Band 8a Senior Psychological Therapist (Clinical Psychologist) with 0.5 WTE as a Clinical Tutor on the UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
Islington Talking Therapies and UCL are offering the opportunity to do a split post 0.5 WTE in Islington Talking Therapies and 0.5 WTE with UCL as a Clinical Tutor on the UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our lively, dedicated and supportive Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression team Islington. Applicants should have significant experience of working psychologically with people with common mental health problems in primary care settings. Some previous management and leadership experience is desirable.
The post holder will join a well-established management team and will be coordinating and leading on an area of the service providing supervision and line management, as well as leading on aspects of service development. Within Islington Talking Therapies we offer a range of step 3 interventions includingCBT, EMDR, IPT, DIT, BCT and Counselling. You will also offer supervision to junior colleagues, as well as providing advice, consultation and training to other clinical colleagues.
The successful applicant will also work part-time (0.5 WTE) with UCL as a Clinical Tutor on the UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology as part of their experienced team, many of whom are leaders in their academic and clinical fields. The UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is the largest professional training course providing a first-rate training in clinical psychology for high-calibre students. The course's overarching aim is to train independently minded, scientifically-oriented and compassionate clinicians who are committed to anti-discriminatory practice and capable of taking a leadership role in health services at home or abroad. The successful applicant’s duties may include but are not limited to: teaching; monitoring of placements and trainee progress; trainee selection; trainee and professional development; placement administration and development; research supervision.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
We have a full time permanent position available in Islington. Please be advised that there may be other fixed term or permanent posts available with our wider teams.
