The Hospital located near Darlington, County Durham, provides individualized treatment and care for adults with mental health needs, including those with complex and challenging behaviors, within a safe and supportive environment. Their integrated services offer complete care pathways, allowing service users to move seamlessly between care options, meeting their unique needs, enabling recovery, and re-engaging with the community to maximize life opportunities.
The multi-disciplinary teams provide care for up to 107 male and female service users across 8 wards, working closely with commissioners. Our focus is on providing exceptional care and supporting service users to progress towards less restrictive settings and independence. We aim to place service users at the heart of our care, working with them and their carers to support recovery and rehabilitation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join the team.
As the Lead Occupational Therapist, you will provide clinical, professional, and operational leadership to the OT service, ensuring that OT services are proactive and supportive of Priory objectives. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues to support patient care integration and deliver advanced OT assessment, treatment, and management for patients.
You will ensure that practice and services meet local and national standards and clinical governance requirements, including COT Standards for Practice, Code of Ethics, and Professional Conduct. You will also participate in site service quality improvement initiatives, including investigations, quality monitoring, and clinical audits. Additionally, you will oversee student placements within the OT team, attend required site meetings, and represent the OT department.
