The organisation is charged with developing and continually improving its products and services to support local authorities and associated schools.
Job Description:
The Software Development Lead (Back End) is a pivotal lead technical role within the organisation, responsible for leading on the detailed design and delivery of software related products and services. The successful candidate will employ a variety of skills and experience to guide software developers and to advise the team's Development Manager on technical issues.
The post holder will have primary areas of responsibility as detailed below:
* Take ultimate responsibility for the detailed design of complex software modules, ensuring that designs represent efficient, extensible solutions aligned with the organisation's strategy.
* Act as the review/sign off authority for the software teams' deliverables, ensuring adherence to QA processes.
* Coordinate software deliveries within an agile development environment and assist in prioritising sprint items.
* Use experience and expert knowledge to take responsibility for the effective implementation of components that represent significant technical challenges.
* Assist with the personal and professional development of team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills.
* Make recommendations for improving existing software development policies and procedures.
* Maintain knowledge of market leading technologies and actively seek out learning opportunities.
* Identify and resolve system issues that may threaten service delivery.
Hours: 35 hours per week
Vacancy: Permanent
Salary: Grade 4 Level 2 SCP 82-83 (£50,878 - £51,662)
Location: SEEMiS Group LLP, Floor 14, Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA. This post allows for flexible and hybrid working.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have Java OCA / OCP certification or experience in Java software development. Previous candidates need not apply.
