We are looking for two dynamic part-time Band 5 staff nurses with an interest in Haematology/Oncology nursing.
We are a busy but friendly team delivering a variety of intravenous treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments.
Specialist training will be given to the successful candidates.
You will, after training, need to be able to prioritise care, deliver treatments, and maintain high standards of nursing care whilst responding sensitively to the needs of this client group.
Good communication skills and the ability to work with the wider MDT are essential. Ideally, you will have some experience in venepuncture, cannulation, central lines, and IV therapy. Training in this will also be offered.
Main Duties of the Job
At least 18 months post-registration experience would be desirable, and experience in the administration of Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy is desirable but not essential.
You will be required to safely handle and administer Systemic Anti-Cancer therapy after completing relevant training where needed.
Whilst on the unit, you will have the opportunity to assist with supplementary medical infusions and monoclonal antibody therapy.
This will be a great opportunity for an experienced staff nurse to gain valuable experience in this chosen specialty.
