Job summary St Teresa's Hospice, Darlington is seeking experienced HCA's to join our Community Hospice team. We have multiple vacancies for applicants looking to work between 2 and 4 x 8 hour shifts per week on a 7 day rota. Usual shift pattern of early and late shifts, 06:30-14:30 and 14:00-22:00 (including a 30min paid break). We have 13 shifts per week available immediately. Main duties of the job We are a forward thinking, inclusive registered Charity with Inpatient Unit, Outpatient, and Community Hospice services, providing care and support to palliative patients and their families at St Teresas Hospice and in the community. We are looking for healthcare assistants to support our teams. Our Hospice at Home service aims to enhance peoples quality of life, enable rapid discharge from hospital, prevent avoidable admissions to hospital and enable people to die with dignity, in their own home. Successful candidates will: Hold an NVQ/QCF Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or have an equivalent qualification or equivalent experience. Have previous experience of working within a palliative care setting Be able to drive for work on a day to day basis using the pool car, with own transport available in the event that the pool car is unavailable, able to carry a passenger and equipment (business use insurance to be arranged by worker at their expense).
