Job Title: Domiciliary Care Coordinator
Location: Q Leaf Care, covering Deal, Sandwich, Canterbury, Dover, and the Thanet areas
Reports to: Registered Manager
Job Summary:
The Domiciliary Care Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care. This role involves scheduling and coordinating the care team, managing rotas, supporting care staff, and ensuring client satisfaction. A successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, a compassionate nature, and a commitment to maintaining Q Leaf Care’s values of excellence and empathy.
Responsibilities:
1. Scheduling and Coordination
o Develop and manage staff rotas, ensuring optimal allocation of carers according to service user needs and preferences.
o Coordinate with HR to maintain adequate staffing levels and support the recruitment and induction of new care workers.
o Ensure efficient, timely travel arrangements within Deal, Sandwich, Canterbury, Dover, and the Thanet areas, respecting mileage and travel time policies.
2. Client and Family Liaison
o Engage with service users and their families, establishing rapport and ensuring clear communication about care plans, schedules, and any changes.
o Actively listen to client and family feedback, addressing any concerns and making adjustments to service delivery as needed.
3. Care Quality and Compliance
o Ensure all care provided aligns with Q Leaf Care’s high standards and meets regulatory requirements.
o Conduct regular quality checks and spot checks to monitor the performance of care staff, documenting any incidents or areas for improvement.
o Maintain compliance with policies on confidentiality, safeguarding, and health & safety.
4. Staff Support and Training
o Act as a primary point of contact for care staff, offering guidance, answering queries, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
o Coordinate with training personnel to ensure all care workers are up-to-date with mandatory training, including specialized support for diverse service user needs (e.g., language preferences, cultural cooking requirements).
5. Administration and Record Keeping
o Maintain accurate, timely records for each service user, including care plans, risk assessments, and daily logs.
o Ensure meticulous record-keeping of service hours, travel mileage, and payroll details for care staff.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a domiciliary care coordination or similar role within the health and social care sector.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in care management software is desirable.
* A genuine passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care.
* Full UK driver’s license and access to a vehicle (required due to regional travel expectations).
* Flexibility required for occasional on-call support outside of regular working hours.
