New Service Project Engineer job based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire

This role involves managing service projects for under-warranty and post-warranty contracts, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities for the Service Project Engineer job based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire:
1. Lead internal teams to execute service projects effectively, meeting cost, time, and profitability targets.
2. Identify and escalate project risks to management for proactive decision-making.
3. Develop and propose initial on-site or repair solutions aligned with customer needs.
4. Coordinate amendments or variations to project scope, keeping sales teams informed.
5. Maintain clear communication with the Service Manager and sales team regarding any client disputes.
6. Ensure profitability and revenue growth within the assigned projects.
7. Adhere to all operational procedures and safety protocols.
8. Conduct technical diagnostics remotely or on-site, leveraging expert support as needed.
9. Keep track of project actions and ensure seamless handovers in case of absence.
10. Coordinate logistics, spare parts orders, invoicing, and on-site service execution.
11. Ensure compliance with safety and security regulations for every project.
12. Identify business opportunities and share insights with the sales team.
13. Occasionally support the team with additional tasks as required.
Who You'll Work With as the Service Project Engineer job based in Skelmersdale:
External: Customers, Partners, Subcontractors
Internal: Service Manager, Sales Director, UK Sales Engineers, UK Service Engineer, UK Admin, Factory Service Experts
Travel Requirements:
1. Travel across the UK & Ireland (occasional trips to France)
2. Frequency: Once or twice per month
Qualifications & Experience:
1. HNC / HND or a minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience
2. 3 years of service experience or experience in an industrial setting
3. Proficiency in English
Technical Skills:
1. Strong understanding of electrotechnical principles
2. Knowledge of electric motor and alternator operation and maintenance (preferred)
3. Confirmed experience in project management
