Our client based in Tamworth is a market leader in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning and electric battery thermal management solutions. Due to business growth and expansion, the business is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, responsibilities will include:
1. Brand passion - ensuring that all products are performing to the highest standards and where these standards are not being achieved to propose and implement corrective actions whilst delivering consistent service standards.
2. You will be a practical oriented engineer with hands-on experience.
3. Building great relationships with internal and external customers and colleagues, ensuring positive client and end user experience, displaying good interpersonal & problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate technical information and training to customers who may not be familiar with the equipment, and on occasion professionally handle difficult conversations.
4. Coach and develop junior design engineers in the correct methods and processes.
5. Check junior engineers' drawings and design to ensure quality levels are maintained within the department.
6. Manage personal and project workload to ensure projects are delivered on time.
7. Compliance with all EH&S procedures and proper utilization of all personal protective equipment.
8. Keep managers and engineering colleagues thoroughly informed on the quality of work, performance, potential problems, and feedback from customers.
9. You will also be ensuring that company expectations are met in respect to safe working, customer experience, technical competence, commercial target delivery, and agreed quality standards in all Elite KL activities.
10. You will be involved with New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, which will involve the management of testing products, creation and training staff on new procedures and guiding internal staff and external service agents.
11. Contribute new ideas to enhance company products, services, and overall customer experience.
12. You will be involved in engineering problem solving and suggesting enhancements to products and processes.
13. Take ownership of the design from being handed a concept through to production.
14. Checking engineering packages.
15. Creation of maintenance/service and operation instruction manuals.
16. Participation in design reviews at each phase of product introduction.
17. Ensuring successful integration of each design package as a whole.
18. Generating and revising design specifications.
19. You will lead in validation processes such as DFMEA, Risk Assessments, and HAZARD reviews.
20. A problem-solving engineer who can work autonomously.
21. Any other reasonable duties.
Qualifications:
Working as part of the Engineering team reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
1. Hold a Minimum of BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Minimum relevant industry experience using 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred).
3. Full UK Driver’s licence.
4. Ability to carry out administration within a given deadline.
5. Ability to provide a right first-time solution.
6. Experience building prototypes and NPI activities.
7. Ability to work under own initiative.
8. Problem solving engineer who can work autonomously.
9. Experience leading a small team.
10. Experience in project delivery.
