Assistant ER Advisor (Absence)
You will be joining a team of talented, solution focused and driven employee relations specialists. Our purpose is to support our managers to make Mitie a great place to work. We advise and coach managers in their management of ER cases, upholding fair and just policies in-line with legislation and best practice whilst balancing risk and commerciality to deliver the best results for our business.
What are the main responsbilites?
As an SME in Absence Management, you will hold your own caseload using your knowledge in ER and employment law, from receipt of a case through to its conclusion. You will be supporting and coaching People Managers to effectively manage short term and long-term absence cases to raise levels of attendance throughout the business. You will also provide HR advice in relation to HR absence management policy, practices & procedures. The role will also be:
-Owning cases related to death-in-service, liaising with internal support departments and proactively supporting next of kin.
-Utilising technology, including our case management system, to remotely deliver a quality service to our customers.
-Exposure to a wide variety of contracts across many sectors, both public and private
-Be part of a wider customer service focused People Support team, Mitie's central HR function
-Support with triaging ER cases received from the business
What are we looking for?
You will have Employee Relations knowledge or hold keen interest in Employee Relations as part of your career growth. As well as this, you will hold a background in absence management and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the end to end process of absence cases. Ideally, you will hold a CIPD qualification or be looking to obtain in which we will support your studies. Additionally, you will:
-Hold IT skills including MS Word and MS Excel and have a basic knowledge of HR systems
-Hold an understanding of HR systems would be an advantage.
-Strong customer service focus, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
-Strong case management skills where there are competing priorities
-Well organised, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail.
