Overview Credit Controllers ensures that Gallagher IBA receive the money from businesses and customers who owe them. Their duties include handling credit assessments, negotiating payment plans and maintaining accurate financial records. Operating within the Insurer Broker Accounting department you will provide a quality credit control service, whilst adhering to Company Procedures. This role supports business growth goals by meeting stakeholder expectations and ensuring company funds are collected promptly. Credit Controllers focus on mitigating risks and maximising profits by ensuring credit issued by the company is paid in full and on time. Successful Credit Controllers are comfortable communicating clearly with both individuals' debtors and company executives. Key departmental areas include cash posting and unallocated cash teams. How you'll make an impact Manage company debt aligning with policy and process to achieve departmental key performance targets Chase outstanding premiums from clients as per the Company Procedure (Direct Client and Business to Business) Produce and issues regular Statement of Accounts for clients Record and maintain Client and Business records in line with Company Procedures Escalate any issues with your designated stakeholders to your Team Leader within reasonable timescales Manage financial accounts of external stakeholders, managing reconciliation and settlement of debtor and creditor ledger balances Assist Cash Postings with the resolution of unallocated cash, providing constructive feedback on issues which have resulted in mis-postings Assist the business with any queries they have with the collection process, offering support where required Hold regular forums with both internal and external stakeholders to promptly raise and resolve any issues as they arise Provide updates to Business on outstanding premiums for their branches and deliver a monthly debtors status report to your allocated Business Units highlighting any potential bad debt risk/issues Handle and process payment requests, including production of payment request packages in line with Gallagher policy Facilitate training and support for less experienced members of the team Comply with AJG Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention, but not limited to Whistle Blowing, Treating Customers Fairly Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, in, putting clients at the heart of our business Ad hoc duties as required About You Knowledge of insurance products advantageous but not essential Good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (inc lookups & pivots), Word, Outlook Customer/client experience is essential Previous experience working in a fast-paced, global financial services organisation, preferably insurance Strong Business to Business Credit Control experience; and Ability to deal with large volumes of data and complete large, complex reconciliations on client accounts Excellent attention to detail Eligibility to work in the UK Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
