Overview: We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Dosimetrist for a 6-month locum position at a leading central London hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with expertise in Eclipse planning and a strong background in prostate, breast, SRS, and SABR planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute precise radiation treatment plans using the Eclipse system.
2. Perform accurate dose calculations to ensure the correct delivery of radiation therapy.
3. Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and the wider healthcare team to optimize patient treatment plans.
4. Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on all treatment plans and equipment.
5. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior dosimetrists and other team members.
6. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in dosimetry and radiation therapy techniques.
7. Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and ongoing education programs.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy, or a related field.
2. Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or equivalent.
3. A minimum of 5 years of clinical dosimetry experience.
4. Proficiency in the Eclipse treatment planning system.
5. Proven experience in planning for prostate, breast, SRS, and SABR treatments.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
9. Master's degree in Medical Dosimetry or a related field (preferred).
10. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role (preferred).
11. Familiarity with other treatment planning systems and software (preferred).
Working Conditions:
1. Full-time locum position with standard working hours (Monday to Friday).
2. Potential for occasional evening or weekend shifts.
3. Exposure to clinical environments and radiation.
