Ward 6B based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage is a 25-bedded ward offering care and treatment to both male and female patients who are acutely unwell with renal disease and other associated medical issues. As a Nurse Team Manager you will be responsible in the general management of the ward and staff and together with care planning, discharge planning, clinical risk assessments provide a safe and therapeutic environment for all. Main duties of the job To have overall responsibility for the operational management and clinical service delivery for Ward 6B - Renal. Provide specialist renal nursing care and expertise, both in delivering direct patient care and in support of other staff caring for the needs of our Renal inpatients. Providing appropriate intervention, support and clinical expertise to deliver a safe clinical pathway that promotes high quality care through role modelling, expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education. Promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines. Accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures at ward/ department level, through ongoing vigilance by ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Infection Control Strategy. Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff. To be a highly skilled clinical expert with specialised knowledge in caring for patients with complex needs. To provide advice and support to all staff working in the area. To establish effective communication links with the Unplanned Division- Care Group 3 management team.
