Job overview
We are seeking enthusiastic, qualified Speech and Language Therapists to work within our established team of committed SLT's and Assistant SLT's to assist in delivering high quality services to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Main duties of the job
The post holders will have the chance to work with clients presenting with a range of acquired aetiologies including stroke, dementia, neurological conditions, respiratory conditions. You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients on your caseload.
These posts are suitable for new graduates seeking experience in adult work. The posts form part of our highly successful band 5 rotation scheme, allowing experience in a variety of settings and with a number of client groups.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To develop/improve/maintain/manage communication/swallowing/feeding skills of adults in a given location, through direct intervention, liaison and joint working with other staff and carers and across agencies, to maximise their potential reduce risk and enable their maximum participation and integration into society.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

Essential criteria
1. Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent
2. Health and Care Professions Council – Licence to Practice
3. Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
Experience and Knowledge

1. Relevant experience at undergraduate/post graduate level
2. Knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the client group
3. Knowledge of national policies and procedures (relevant to the client group)
4. Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions (relevant to the client group)

1. It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role
