Your initial rotation and training would be in the Clinical Biochemistry and serology departments in the multi disciplinary lab. In this role, you'll be instrumental in maintaining and developing the high-quality services our laboratory provides, ensuring our clinical users receive the best care possible. The successful candidate will develop skills in operating a bespoke track solution and working as a team across Blood Sciences. Also, as an associate practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting Biomedical scientists on daily tasks, maintaining equipment's and will be contributing to the smooth delivery of service at a high standard. The successful candidate will be part of Clinical Biochemistry and Serology team and is expected to work mixture of day and night shifts.The laboratory operates a 24/7 service and therefore full participation is required for all contractual shifts Main duties of the job To become proficient in designated areas of diagnostic work within the department and to provide a comprehensive and appropriate laboratory service to patients and staff. Develop level of proficiency in technical skills to solve problems in the analytical process. To work under supervision in a number of sections in the laboratory.Ensure all work is completed timely and to satisfactory standards and will seek advice from senior staff when required. Ensure that safe working practices are maintained according to standard operating procedures. To assist in maintaining appropriate internal and external quality assurance. To adhere to Standard Operational Procedures for the processing of samples. To demonstrate awareness and compliance with Trust policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. To work towards promoting this to others. Identify and report clinical risks so that appropriate action can be taken in accordance with the Trust risk management policy.
