We are recruiting for a Head of Planning and Contractswho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The role is an unique opportunity to lead the Trust's role in population health management, contract negotiation and management and both short-term and long-term strategic and annual planning cycles. As part of this role, you will work collaboratively across the health and care system, engaging in and influencing the development of system-wide plans and collaborative projects.

Main duties of the job
Leading the negotiation, development and management of key commissioning contracts and supporting contracts and sub-contracts, ensuring that the terms and contents of any contracts reflect the Trust's best interests;Providing a high level of technical expertise on contracts, ensuring the latest national health and care policy is communicated and implemented within the Trust;Co-ordinating and leading the development of a coherent series of annual and longer-term strategic business plans;Working closely with Trust colleagues across corporate, clinical and operational teams, and with wider system partners, to ensure plans are aligned and developed in a consistent manner;Developing a strategic prioritisation framework that aligns with the Trust's agreed strategic objectives, and that allows a consistent approach to the consideration and prioritisation of business cases and provider intentions within the Trust;Engagement in the development of population health management;Day-to-day management of and leadership to other members of the Planning and Contracts team.

5. Masters Level or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
6. Evidence of working at a senior level within a contracts or strategic planning role

9. Extensive experience of health and care policy and guidance, with experience of the full NHS commissioning cycle, expertise in contract negotiations, contract management and performance management at a senior level.
10. Significant experience in an NHS or other similar environment, managing multiple priorities and competing demands to successfully meet challenging targets and planned objectives.
11. Experience in strategic environments, influencing and presenting to senior stakeholders, and developing strategic plans.
12. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of interpreting, evaluating, summarising and presenting complex, multi-faceted information, with excellent skills in MS Office software packages
13. Experience of developing and monitoring strategic plans and business cases.
14. Demonstrable experience of overseeing organisation-wide programmes / initiatives; leading successful change management / service redesign processes.
15. Strong track record of leading and managing a team and overseeing staff management and development.
