Overview
This role requires a highly motivated and qualified Financial Accountant, who will play an important part in the Finance Department, playing an active role in supporting our continued growth across the EMEA region. This role will support the Manager of Finance by completing routine accounting tasks, taking ownership of month end processes, coaching and supervising others in the team and supporting on ad hoc projects. This role may also be required to act as the Manager of Finance’s delegate on occasions.
This role will be expected to take on specific country accounting ownership. The primary focus will be UK, with support of others as needed.
You will also ultimately support the Company’s key decision makers through delivering reliable and robust financial information within tight deadlines, and being the expert for key accounting transactions in your area.

As an experienced accountant, you will have the opportunity to work in a busy and dynamic team and can expect to work on a broad range of accounting areas helping the business to maintain a high standard of financial accuracy. A summary of the key accounting tasks you will perform are as follows:
EMEA accounting
1. Responsibility for the preparation and finalisation of the monthly accounts, compliant to both Group reporting GAAP and GAAP appropriate for the countries within which the legal entities reside.
2. Preparation of the UK statutory accounting statements files and related documentation to be provided to external auditors for review and sign off.
3. Leading on co-ordination of external audit fieldwork activities, supporting the Manager of Finance.
4. Maintaining strong balance sheet control through monthly reconciliations and reviews, including training and overseeing more junior members of the team with their balance sheet responsibilities.
5. Performing monthly P&L review analyses in collaboration with FP&A colleagues, ensuring that income and expenses are being posted to the correct accounting codes.
6. Providing feedback to Finance and non-Finance colleagues to ensure accounting corrections are made at source as much as possible, to reduce the number of manual reclass journals required.
7. Ensure monthly routine postings are maintained and processes documented, to support SOX and other internal auditing requirements.
8. Build relationships and liaise with external providers such as tax advisors and auditors.
9. Provide support to the corporate and FP&A teams on technical accounting queries and issues.
10. Assist in Corporation Tax reporting and returns, working with the Tax team to answer queries on accounting entries, and provide further financial analysis in support of the Manager of Finance.
11. Maintaining the fixed asset register by posting fixed asset additions, managing entries to assets under course of construction, posting fixed asset disposals and performing reconciliations against budget.
12. Managing the mechanisms for accounting of authorised capital expenditure projects, ensuring all relevant documentation is in place, working with Finance and non-Finance colleagues appropriately.
13. Identifying and posting prepayments and accruals ensuring that supporting documentation is in place.
14. Reviewing the intercompany accounts reconciliations for EMEA companies on a monthly basis. This includes coaching and supporting AR and AP team members in completing reconciliations, accounting entries and payments, and advising the Director of Finance on proposed settlements to keep the balances as clean as possible and help with overall cash management.
15. Supporting the Manager of Finance with process improvement to streamline the accounting function, including identifying any control weaknesses and suggesting solutions.
16. Supporting the EMEA business with projects and other ad hoc tasks. Examples could include supporting on the accounting for site tenants, working with the relevant customer services team(s) on related invoicing and reconciliations, making sure the documentation for audits is in place.
Qualifications
17. Part-Qualified or Qualified ACCA or CIMA (or overseas equivalent).
18. If P-Q then actively working towards a full qualification (study will be supported).

23. Organisational skills and the proven ability to manage a diverse workload to deadlines.
24. Moderate/advanced Excel skills
25. Ability to coach and develop others through sharing of own knowledge and training on tasks.
26. Experience of using ERP systems is essential, with use of JDE an advantage.
